Set on “the Rock” Gander, Newfoundland, it’s the true story during 9/11 and it’s immediate aftermath when 7,000 passengers were forced to land in tiny Gander’s (pop 9,000) oversized airport. Gander was formerly a refueling stop for intercontinental flights before the advent of the long-range jet. The devastating events of 9/11 brought all air traffic to an immediate halt and our cast to Newfoundland.

The residents of this isolated town for three days press the pause button on the routine of their lives putting small town politics aside. They spring into action to house, feed, befriend, and comfort strangers from all over the world.  Their compassion extends to animals on the flights as well.  As is so often the case in a "get what you give world," the townspeople are the benefactors as well as beneficiaries of this extraordinary experience.

The staging is creative and constantly in motion. The actors seamlessly and convincingly morph from one colorful character to another. We are treated to one heartwarming or heartbreaking story after another resulting in laughter and tears. By the end of the show, the audience is on its feet clapping and cheering for this unforgettable outpouring of humanity and spirit.
